Her name is...
Where did she get her name? How did she get her name? Who named her? On 14 June 1985, I was an anxious 18-year-old ready to board a plane in Bahrain headed back to the United States. President Reagan and Prime Minister Thatcher had a secret...
...a secret weapon, that is, that played a role in bringing about the end of the Cold War. It can be argued that the determination, resolve and conviction of two of the greatest leaders of the twentieth century, American President Ronald Reagan and British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, were reflected in each and every service member of their two countries, who assumed their duties with that same determination, resolve and conviction.

USS Enterprise: A legacy continues
To paraphrase a great leader, “When word of a crisis breaks out, in Washington, it is no accident that the first question to everyone’s lips is...where is the nearest carrier?” That statement was made on the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71), 12 March 1993 by the then President of the United States, William Jefferson Clinton.

Officers gain by knowing their chiefs

Don’t be submerged in debt

Staying educated
This month, AUSN honors Navy nurses and naval aviation. In each of these fields, hard working enlisted Sailors provide a great depth and in several cases, our Sailors have risen in training and education to become Navy health care professional officers and aviators.

Not outreach – It’s reaching out

Support to our Fleet and deployed services and their families are challenged today at levels not seen in decades. Deployments are longer–– the demand for mobilizing Reservists is somewhat constant––and families and family support services simply have a lot of demands placed on them.

Sailors helping Sailors
We've been in business 236 years. Our business model is fairly consistent and matches our current branding: A global force for good. Some of the same reasons for having a Navy more than 200 years ago are the same today, such as protecting merchant vessels against piracy.

As a Leader, How Does One Move from Good to Great?
