The Ensign James F. Burke, Jr. Chapter of the Association of the United States Navy held their 32nd annual Mess Night at the Larchmont Yacht Club in Larchmont, New York this past Friday.
The event is held each year by the chapter, which is named in honor of the Yonkers resident and helicopter pilot who was killed on Aug. 1, 1967, in the Vinh Long province of Vietnam.
Midshipmen from the State University of New York Maritime College and from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point were in attendance.
Lewis M. Duncan, Ph.D. — the provost of the U.S. Naval War College — gave the keynote speech at the event.
