All of us at the Association of the United States Navy wish a speedy recovery to the security force member who was wounded in Thursday’s possible terrorism incident at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi.
Even when not deployed, our Sailors and Coast Guardsmen at home are at risk of terrorism, and they rely on the security forces who guard our installations to keep them safe. We are so thankful for their efforts in protecting the base and ensuring that the shooter was not able to take a single life.
We are happy to hear that the security force member is in good condition and is expected to survive. Thank you to all who serve, and to those who serve them.
