Dr. CJ Mitchell, PhD
Director of Human Resources, Leadership Development Scholar and Motivational Speaker
CJ Mitchell is the Director of Human Resources for Comcast Spotlight in Florida. He works as the HR Business Partner to the Vice President of Advertising Sales for the Florida Region and more than $85 million of revenue. He is the former 15th Force Master Chief of the Navy Reserve and experienced adjunct professor of Leadership and Management.
As the Force Master Chief and the Senior Enlisted person in the Navy Reserve, he responsible for Sailor professional and leadership development, strategy development and implementation, and performance of about 100,000 Sailors serving around the world and 123 sites in 50 states and 2 US territories.
CJ has held several leadership positions in the Navy at every level and frequently speaks and facilitates leadership training around the Navy. He has facilitating training for senior Flag Officers, and both active and reserve leaders in all services. In his position as the Force Master Chief, he has represented and advocated for the Navy Reserve on Capitol Hill with Congress and worked with local politicians working on cooperative and collaborative programs for veteran and reserve personnel employment, education, and leadership programs.
Dr. Mitchell has given speeches on variety of leadership and military topics to Congressional Staffers and Fortune 500 Companies GEICO, USAA, General Motors, and VION. And he has spoken extensively at events for C-suite executives and veterans advocacy groups from the Navy League, Fleet Reserve Association, and Retired Officer’s Association.
As an Organizational Leadership scholar, Dr. Mitchell is adjunct faculty for University of Phoenix, American Intercontinental University, Columbia Southern and Park University. He facilitates and lectures on management and leadership topics including change management, quality management, organizational leadership, human resources policy, project management and ethics.
CJ earned a PhD in Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University. His dissertation focused on developing transformational leadership behaviors. He and his wife Rhonda live in Alexandria, VA and they enjoy movies, sporting events, and travel.
