Here are just a few ways AUSN keeps our Sailors informed every step along their career and personal life:
AUSN publishes Navy magazine each quarter. Navy keeps Sailors, Coast Guardsmen, and their families abreast of critical developments within the Pentagon, at the Department of Veterans Affairs, and on Capitol Hill with in-depth reporting on the latest issues and first-hand stories from service members.
AUSN members receive informative and timely email newsletters and special announcements, which puts them at the forefront of the latest issues affecting their careers, benefits, families, and their future. AUSN’s weekly SITREP email alone is worth the price of membership, providing the latest information on what Congress, the Pentagon, the VA, and us here at AUSN are up to.
Navy Now Webinars and Events
AUSN currently hosts the Navy Now Webinar Series, which is an opportunity for our membership to hear directly from the movers and shakers on issues such as TRICARE, transitioning to a civilian career, and the changing dynamic of military families. In addition, AUSN hosts events throughout the year, including our annual Board Meeting and the Capitol Hill Reception, where we honor members of Congress for their work on behalf of Sailors and Coast Guardsmen.
A Voice on Capitol Hill
AUSN serves as the voice of America’s Sailors and Coast Guardsmen, regularly advocating for them directly to top leadership in the military, the White House, and in Congress. We are a member of The Military Coalition, one of the strongest and most respected forces on Capitol Hill. With your membership, we will make sure your concerns are heard by those who have the power to do something about them.
Navy Safe Harbor Foundation
SAILORS HELPING SAILORS―Ready to help, the Navy way. HELPING OUR WOUNDED, ILL & INJURED SHIPMATES…
AUSN has served as a tremendous resource to our Shipmates, with services such as advocacy, scholarships, career advancement support, networking opportunities, benefit support, reunion listings and more. Now AUSN is joining forces with Navy Safe Harbor Foundation (NSHF) to help Sailors and Coast Guard members in even more ways. Through NSHF’s partnership with Navy Wounded Warrior, we will have the ability to help coordinate non-medical care demands that frequently arise; such as when a hospitalized Sailor‘s spouse can’t afford to travel to be bedside, or when unexpected financial needs make meeting the demands of daily life an impossible task. With your help, we will continue to raise awareness of the needs of wounded, ill and injured Sailors, Coast Guard members and their families. We will fill the gaps and provide services not available through government benefits. Thanks to your support, when hope seems dim, AUSN and NSHF, working together, are able to provide a bright light of aid—all in the Navy way they deserve.
