National Veterans Day Observance Sponsors Sought

Updated: Oct 17

VA and the Veterans Day National Committee (VDNC) invite cities, towns, and non-profits to host VA-recognized Veterans Day observances on Monday, November 11, 2024. These events, officially supporting the annual National Veterans Day Observance, honor veterans' service and sacrifice.

Representatives from nearly 50 American veteran-serving organizations, including the Association of the U.S. Navy (AUSN), make up the VDNC. Regional Veterans Day celebrations, including parades, concerts, ceremonies, and educational programs, recognize veterans' significant contributions to American culture.

Selected sites will be chosen based on continuity, regional influence, and community involvement. Each will receive official Veterans Day posters, a certificate of gratitude from the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, and potential military ceremonial support from the Department of Defense.

In 2023, 66 regional sites across 34 states and the District of Columbia held Veterans Day observances. To be considered for 2024, download the regional site application and submit it by May 1, 2024, to vetsday@va.gov. Selected sites will be notified in July 2024. Learn more.
